Hi Barbara. It's me. I've been trying to dig myself out of the hole that writing two novels at once has dug for me. Its such a long story. (one is fiction, as you know; one, non) But I submitted a couple of novel excerpts to a contest (new millennium writings). What is your opinion of such things, and do you think success in contests could help build my writing resume in favor of future publication? Or is it all bunk? Thanks.

Hi Barbara. Just signed up for your Focus on the Novel workshop with Writer's Digest University, starting May 27. Am looking forward to having you critique my writing and working with someone who knows what they are doing. See you in class! Ron

I love your website, Barbara. I feel right at home here. You offer a lot of information that I expect to generously partake of. Thank you so much for providing such a great place to visit. I especially like how you displayed your books on your bookshelf. Creative genius, that.

Hi Barbara, 1)I love your website. I think it's new because I visited last January. 2)I took your fundamentals 101 class at the beginning of the year. Can't believe how far I've come since your initial tutelage. I finished my first novel with lots of help from WritersOnline. My question: is it NOT a good idea to send queries for pubs and agents at this time of year? Should I wait until the first week in January?

Thanks in advance, mj (you may remember Polly & Mack

Hello Barbara,
I read the reviews of 7 of your novels and the one that caught my interest, although I have read none of your novels but now want to, is 'Hindsight'. That is because the Psychological Thriller really entices me. It is the genre I want to learn. I am going to take your course on Fiction writing, the six week course. Congratulations on your success. I hope your course helps me to get published.

After participating this summer in your WOW course, Focus on the Novel, I just thought I'd check in and say hello and tell you how much I appreciated the sessions with you and my classmates. I'm pleased to report that I'm working regularly on my first draft and think of you often as I struggle to push my story forward. The course was extremely productive for me and the lessons learned invaluable. Thank you!!!
