I've been trying to dig myself out of the hole that writing two novels at once has dug for me. Its such a long story. (one is fiction, as you know; one, non) But I submitted a couple of novel excerpts to a contest (new millennium writings). What is your opinion of such things, and do you think success in contests could help build my writing resume in favor of future publication? Or is it all bunk? Thanks.
